Fun Hands

Day 2 of my secondary shot went well. I ran like the wind, won 2 racks in the Commerce 20/40 (despite making some questionable plays....people down here do play differently, kind of in the spirit of my theory of good games post suggests, players just take different lines on average in different situations and I'm still getting used to it) and played a fair number of hands online. These hands just came up about an hour ago in rapid succession and I thought they were fun.

Hand #1
Full Tilt Poker $2/$4 Limit Hold'em - 6 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

Pre Flop: (1.5 SB) Hero is SB with Q K
UTG raises, 3 folds, Hero 3-bets, 1 fold, UTG calls

Flop: (7 SB) 9 6 J (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG raises, Hero 3-bets, UTG calls all in

Turn: (6 BB) J (2 players - 1 is all in)

River: (6 BB) T (2 players - 1 is all in)

Final Pot: 6 BB
Hero shows Q K (a straight flush, King high)
UTG shows 8 8 (two pair, Jacks and Eights)
Hero wins 5.75 BB
(Rake: $1.00)

Obviously this hand was fun because I made a king high spade straight flush. The 3-bet preflop is a tad on the light side, but when a player is almost all in, especially UTG, ranges definitely don't tighten up. It was also fun because his hand was revealed on the flop once we got all the money in, and we got to run out the last two cards tournament style.

Hand #2
Full Tilt Poker $2/$4 Limit Hold'em - 6 players

Pre Flop: (1.5 SB) Hero is BB with 4 5
2 folds, CO raises, 2 folds, Hero calls

Flop: (4.5 SB) 6 T 2 (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets, Hero raises, CO calls

Turn: (4.25 BB) 2 (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls

River: (6.25 BB) 6 (2 players)
Hero bets, CO folds

Final Pot: 6.25 BB
Hero wins 6 BB
(Rake: $1.00)

I'm pretty sure this hand is completely standard, 'cause I mean what am I gonna do defend the nut 5-high sooted and then not check/raise when I flop a 12 outter against top set? And on the river to quote my boy 9.5fingershuffle "it only has to work x percent of the time so it must be good."

Hand #3

River: (8.75 BB) 5 (3 players)

Final Pot: 11.75 BB
MP mucks A 7
CO mucks 3 A
Hero shows A K (a pair of Aces)
Hero wins 11.25 BB
(Rake: $2.00)

This is a bread 'n butter limit hold 'em hand. Anybody who isn't sure what it is that I do on a day to day basis and assumes it must be inherently complex could be pointed to this hand as an example of what it means, in a nut shell, to run good against bad players. Just one of these a day live and you're good to go.
